A Vision Rooted in Prayer

Over four decades after its inception, Sheboygan Lutheran High School continues to Prepare Christian Leaders, One Student at a Time. SLHS rose from the dreams and prayers of many believers in Sheboygan County. After much prayer and preparation, the first administrator was called in 1977. In the fall of 1978, the high school became a reality when it opened the doors of the Ebenezer Church Education building to 36 freshmen and sophomores. While distinctly affiliated with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS), students of all faiths, denominations, and backgrounds are welcome.

The History of SLHS

In 1979, Sheboygan Lutheran High moved to the St. Paul Education Center in nearby Sheboygan Falls, and the Hoppert Farm was purchased as the future site of the school. Construction of the Sheboygan Lutheran High School building began in 1980, with students, faculty, and staff moving into the facility in the spring of 1981. The Taproot Club was formed that same year to build a firm foundation of support for the high school, which also saw its first graduating class of eight students.

Since then, the campus has grown alongside the mission: a 600-seat Performing Arts Center, science labs, a robotics and computer lab, a gymnasium, athletic fields, upgraded technology, and an additional wing of classrooms have made the school what it is today.

Academic Excellence

SLHS meets kids where they are, from college-preparatory curriculum to accommodation plans, within a 12:1 student-to-faculty ratio that lets teachers know each student by name.

Biblical Worldview

Daily devotions, weekly chapel, and four years of Theology coursework weave faith into every subject, from freshman year through graduation.

Christian Leadership

Through the Faith Walk Project, Vocational Hours, and Service Day, students put their faith into action and grow as servant leaders on campus and in the community.

Prepared Graduates

Our graduates leave equipped for college, the trades, ministry, or the military, backed by a 99% graduation rate and millions of dollars in scholarships awarded each year.
