Where Young Crusaders Get Their Start

Sheboygan Lutheran’s Jr. Crusader program gives elementary school children the chance to participate in athletic activities led by Christian leaders. Participants learn athletic skills and fundamentals alongside hard work, teamwork, sportsmanship, and humility. It’s never too early to be a Crusader!

Jr. Crusader programs are designed to support, not compete with, middle school teams and schedules.

Programs Offered

Grades 5-8

Practices
Practices are held on Wednesdays from 3:45 – 5:15 pm at Sheboygan Lutheran alongside the high school team and coaches, with a focus on faith, fitness, fun, and fellowship. Free to join.

Meets
There are three meets our high school team will be attending that also have middle school races. Feel free to attend whichever meets work with your schedule.

  • Mishicot: Thursday, September 24
  • Luxemburg-Casco: Friday, October 9
  • Conference at Hilbert: Saturday, October 17

Grades 3-8

The Junior Crusader Basketball Program is designed for student athletes who plan to attend Sheboygan Lutheran High School to play together, instilling values like respect, commitment, leadership, hard work, and sacrifice, rooted in our mission of Preparing Christian Leaders, One Student at a Time. Practices
Practices vary based on age and availability, with most teams practicing one to two times per week.

Games
Each team plays a schedule of league games and local tournaments, about 20–25 games per season. The Junior Crusader Boys Basketball Program is part of the Northeast Wisconsin Boys Basketball League (NWBBL).

Cost

  • ​3rd – 4th Grade: $125
  • 5th – 8th Grade: $150

The Jr. Crusader girls program helps student athletes strengthen their faith in Jesus Christ while growing their basketball skills, teamwork, and commitment to personal excellence. $100 per player, plus $30 if a jersey is needed.

Monday-Thursday beginning in August, 5:30-7 pm (excluding some Wednesdays)

Games
Tuesday nights (with the exception of one game on the Wednesday following Labor Day)

Program Cost
Registration Fee: $125
Practice Jersey: $25 (you get to keep your jersey)
Game Jersey: $45
Volunteer Fee: $75 postdated check (If you complete 3 hours of volunteer hours for the program your check will be returned to you)

Our football program is through the Kohler/Lutheran/Christian (KLC) co-op.

Crusader Summer Camps

During June & July, we offer a variety of camps, including art, drama, baseball, soccer, volleyball, weight training, fitness, Slamma Jamma, and more. Registration for 2027 Crusader Summer Camps will open March 2027.

Skills & Drills Clinic

Sundays | Dates TBD | 3:00-4:00pm

Directed by the Sheboygan Lutheran High coaching staff, this basketball clinic runs on Sundays in the fall, with participants practicing fundamentals like dribbling, shooting, passing, defense, and teamwork. Registration is handled online, and the cost is a flat $40 no matter how many Sundays your child attends.

SLHS Spring Musical

Each spring, Sheboygan Lutheran’s spring musical welcomes elementary school students to join the cast and crew alongside our high school performers, giving younger Crusaders a chance to experience life on the Performing Arts Center stage. Audition details for the 2027 production haven’t been announced yet, but families on our Jr. Crusader mailing list will be the first to know.
