Wisconsin Parental Choice Program
Education Made Affordable
The Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP) allows parents to receive a voucher to enroll their children in private and religious schools, tuition-free. The statewide program is available to families below 220% of the federal poverty level.
An application must be submitted through the online portal during the annual application periods. New for the 2026–27 school year: open enrollment periods are now available on a monthly basis. Positions are awarded first-come, first-served. Applying early gives your child the best chance at securing a seat.

Who Can Apply
To qualify for WPCP, a student must be a Wisconsin resident living outside the Milwaukee and Racine choice districts, and must meet one of the following:
- Enrolled in a public or home school during the previous year
- Not enrolled in school during the previous year
- Currently enrolled in a private school through a Choice program
- Entering kindergarten, 1st grade, or 9th grade
- Attended school in another state during the previous year
