The Arts at SLHS
Room to Create, Perform, and Grow
Whether it’s a paintbrush, an instrument, or a script, SLHS gives students room to grow their creative gifts alongside their faith. From the art room to the concert hall to the stage, our students perform and create throughout the year, most of it right in our own Performing Arts Center.
Visual Art
From Introduction to Art through Drawing & Illustration, Painting, Ceramics/3D, and Portfolio Development, SLHS students build a strong visual arts foundation, with work recognized each year at the Big East Art Show.
Choir
Konzertchor gives Crusader singers a place to grow, with several performances at concerts throughout the year. Students looking for more can join Chamber Choir, an extracurricular group led alongside our in-class program under our Music Director. Each year, select Crusader vocalists are also recognized regionally through the Big East Honors Choir, an honor open to top student singers across the conference. Band
Symphonic Band gives Crusader musicians a foundation to grow their skills, performing at concerts throughout the year and leading school spirit as Pep Band at games. Students looking for more can join Jazz Band, an extracurricular group led alongside our in-class program under the SLHS Music Director. Each year, select Crusader musicians are also recognized regionally through the Big East Honors Band, an honor open to top student performers across the conference. Drama & Theater
From the Fall Drama to the Spring Musical, Crusader casts and crews bring stories to life on our own stage. Students also sharpen performance skills through Speech Team, which competes across 16 categories of theater, debate, and speech. View upcoming events and ticket information below.
